Part 1: Focus on building a strong personal meditation practice
Part 2: From that foundation of strong personal practice, learn how to teach it to others carefully and responsibly

Susan Piver

Susan Piver is a Buddhist teacher and the New York Times bestselling author of nine books. Her new book, The Four Noble Truths of Love: Buddhist Wisdom for Modern Relationships, was published in June 2018. A student of Buddhism since 1995, she graduated from a Buddhist seminary in 2004 and was authorized to teach meditation in the Shambhala Buddhist lineage in 2005.

In 2011, Piver launched The Open Heart Project, an online meditation community with nearly 20,000 members who practice together and explore ways to bring spiritual values such as kindness, genuineness and fearlessness to everyday life.

the stretch experience

Experience vinyasa flow yoga in an urban, contemporary setting. Our teachers will guide you through a series of yoga postures using detailed alignment cues to help you engage, open, and release the musculoskeletal system and open the mind to new possibilities.

classes

We offer 3 types of yoga classes: Stretch, Power Stretch, and Gentle Stretch. All classes begin with a sequence of yoga poses coordinated with the breath and end with a short, guided meditation. We understand that every day will be different for your physical and mental states, so we’ve designed classes with varying levels of intensity to choose from based on what your needs are that day. All classes are slightly warmed between 80-85 degrees. — still cooler than the temperature outside on most days!

stretch

A vinyasa flow class geared towards connecting movement with breath. Designed to emphasize the fundamentals of yoga with modifications for varying degrees of experience.

ideal for:

Those days when you want to break a sweat with a mild to medium stretchy flow, that is balanced with resting postures.

power stretch

A power vinyasa flow similar to the Stretch class but a little more intensive in building strength. Power stretch incorporates core work and muscle defining postures.

ideal for:

Those days when you want a higher intensity flow with a bit more movement and strength-infused yoga postures.

deep stretch

A slower version of the Stretch class. Poses are held longer to allow for more time to observe, adjust alignment, and restore. Each class ends with a cold lavender towel on the forehead.

ideal for:

Those days when you want a mild-to-medium meditative flow.

stretch & sculpt

A vinaysa flow class that incorporates hand weights to tone and sculpt arms, core, and legs. Stretch & Sculpt is a full body workout with yoga as the base.

ideal for:

Those days when you want to get a full workout with light stretching.

Our teachers are here to assist you in finding the class that is right for you based on your current needs. Speak with the instructor before class to get an idea of what to expect in the class and discuss any specific needs.

how to prepare for class
  • • Bring a mat (or borrow of one of ours), water bottle, and an open mind.
  • • Wear fitted, water wicking exercise clothes. Socks and shoes should be removed for class.
  • • Please arrive 15 mins early to the studio. The front door will be locked once class has begun.
